Joliestar will make her third attempt to win the Group 1 $20 million The TAB Everest after being selected by slot-holder Chris Waller Racing.

This brings the number of confirmed Everest starters to nine with an announcement about the slot-holder for Jimmysstar imminent.

The Chris Waller-trained Joliestar, who was voted the nation's best sprinter last season, has won 10 of her 23 starts including five at Group 1 level and more than $9.4 million prizemoney.

She first contested The Everest in 2024 when seventh to Bella Nipotina before finishing a close fifth to Ka Ying Rising last year.

But Joliestar probably goes to The Everest at Royal Randwick on October 17 in career-best form after winning twice at Group 1 level during the Sydney autumn carnival in the Canterbury Stakes and TJ Smith Stakes before her brave third in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

Joliestar, owned by Sir Brendan and Lady Jo Lindsay of Cambridge Stud, resumed with a fast finishing second in Mazu's The Shorts last month then she looked sharp when a close fourth to Ninja and Ka Ying Rising in a Randwick barrier trial yesterday.

"Her form over the last 12 months has been that of the premier Australian sprinter,'' Waller said of Joliestar.

"She went to Royal Ascot and performed admirably against some of the best sprinters in the world, which gave everyone involved enormous confidence in just how good she is.

To have her represent the slot for a third consecutive time is a fantastic result, and we're incredibly excited to see her back at Royal Randwick."

Sir Brendan Lindsay said the "importance of this agreement goes well beyond simply securing a slot for The Everest."

"It reflects the strength of the relationship that has developed between Cambridge Stud and the partners of the CWR slot,'' Sir Brendan said.

"There is a genuine level of trust, respect and understanding between the parties, and that makes an agreement such as this both feasible and important.

"Joliestar has given Cambridge Stud some incredible moments already, and her performance on the international stage at Royal Ascot was another example of the quality she possesses.

"To have her back representing Cambridge Stud and the CWR partners in The Everest for a third consecutive year is incredibly special."

The Chris Waller Racing slot is made up of Peter and Patty Tighe's Magic Bloodstock, Neville and Jenny Morning, Noel and Maria Greenhalgh, Ingham Racing and Waller, and Peter Tighe of Winx fame said: "Joliestar has earned the right to be there again."

"She has continued to perform at the highest level in Australia and competed admirably at Royal Ascot,'' Tighe said.

"We are delighted she will once again carry the colours of Cambridge Stud in our slot in The Everest."

Noel Greenhalgh said Joliestar isn't there to make up the numbers in The Everest.

"There is a great deal of confidence on both sides," Greenhalgh said. "We know what Joliestar is capable of, and the relationship we've built with Cambridge over the past few years makes these decisions easy.

"She has earned another opportunity, and we couldn't be happier to have her representing our slot for a third time."

Joliestar is currently on the fourth line of betting at $18 for The Everest behind Ka Ying Rising ($1.30 favourite), Tempted ($6) and Jimmystar ($15).

There are now only three places in The Everest field to fill with Joliestar joining Ka Ying Rising (slot-holder Hong Kong Jockey Club), Tempted (Godolphin), Ninja (Fairway Thoroughbreds), Headwall (Max Whitby, Neil Werrett, Col Madden, Steve McCann), Blue Door (Newgate), Spicy Martini (Inglis), Savvy Hallie (Mulberry) and Jimmystar (likely TAB) as confirmed starters.

Angel Capital is favoured for owner Yulong's slot leaving Coolmore and James Harron still searching for their sprinter.
