Talented Angel Capital has been confirmed in owner Yulong's slot to complete the field for the Group 1 $20 million The TAB Everest at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Angel Capital will join stablemate Joliestar to give Hall of Fame trainer Chris Waller two leading chances in the world's richest turf race.

Trainers Ciaron Maher (Tempted, Jimmysstar) and Bjorn Baker (Blue Door, Caballus) also have two starters in Saturday's Everest.

Yulong was the last to make their Everest call but it had been widely anticipated they would select Angel Capital, particularly after his last start win in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield.

"Angel Capital is our best sprinter and has now confirmed the same as a last start Group 1 winner," Yulong's Head of Racing, Danny Rolston, said.

"We are realistic about the task at hand with a quality field and the world's best sprinter in Ka Ying Rising, but Mr (Yuesheng) Zhang (owner of Yulong) is a competitor and is looking forward to the challenge on Saturday."

Top Melbourne jockey Ben Melham has retained the ride on Angel Capital after partnering the sprinter in his breakthrough Group 1 win last start.

Angel Capital's Everest inclusion finalises the 12-horse field ahead of Saturday's big race.

The Everest field includes eight individual Group 1 winners – Ka Ying Rising, Caballus, Giga Kick, Jimmysstar, Joliestar, Spicy Martini, Tempted and Angel Capital.

There are two previous Everest winners in the field, Ka Ying Rising (2025) and Giga Kick (2022), plus the three placegetters from The Everest last year, Ka Ying Rising, Tempted and Jimmysstar.

The 10th running of The Everest will be watched by a modern-day record crowd of 52,000 at Royal Randwick, with general admission tickets already sold out.

Racing NSW acting chief executive Graeme Hinton said the growing success of The TAB Everest was a testament to the legacy of Peter V'landys.

"When The Everest was launched in 2017, the vision was to create something completely different, a race that would capture a new generation of racing fans and create a major event for Sydney," Mr Hinton said. "10 years on, it has done both and keeps getting bigger every year."
